Organizational Best Practices for Grants
Dr. Vaneshette Henderson currently serves as the Director of National Grant Development with IDEA Public School System, National Headquarters. She is responsible for supporting IDEA’s national development team’s ambitious fundraising goals through leading grant writing for all federal, state, and local grants for the states of Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Arkansas, and Ohio. The objectives for the training are as follows:
* Identifying organizational grant needs and aligned opportunities
* Determining organizational capability to manage grant funds
* Understanding systems required to become and maintain financial compliance
BIO
Dr. Henderson is the co-owner and Senior Principal Consultant if I3 Consulting. i3 Consulting, LLC is an educational and public policy consulting firm. Our goal is to assist higher education institutions, small businesses and non-profit organizations overcome institutional problems and improve operations. She currently serves as the Director of National Grant Development with IDEA Public School System, National Headquarters. She is responsible for supporting IDEA’s national development team’s ambitious fundraising goals through leading grant writing for all federal, state, and local grants for the states of Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Arkansas, and Ohio. Dr. Henderson previously served as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for Administration of Wiley College. She was responsible for providing leadership, management, and oversight of administrative and operational affairs at the College. Before being promoted, she served as the Vice President for Enrollment Services. Prior to joining Wiley, Dr. Henderson previously served as the Executive Director of Student Achievement and Retention for the Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement in the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Southern University and A&M College. She was the Assistant Dean of the Student Academic Success Office in the College of Arts and Sciences at Xavier University of Louisiana. During her tenure at Xavier, she also served as the Educational Improvement Specialist for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Also, she served as the Coordinator for Pre-College and Women in Engineering Programs at Louisiana State University. Dr. Henderson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Xavier University of Louisiana; Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan; and a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University.
