BIOS
Jill Roshto has over 30 years of experience in retail management, corporate sales, business ownership, fundraising and non-profit management. Roshto is the President of Jill Roshto, LLC, a business consulting firm and is currently serving as Executive Director of Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits. Roshto is a proud double graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, with a BA in English and History and a Master of Business Administration from LSU’s EJ Ourso College of Business.
In her varied career, Ms. Roshto worked in multiple roles at Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, LSU Foundation and as CEO of Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge and the Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation. Ms. Roshto also owned The Keeping Room, a stationery and gift business.
Ms. Roshto has been very involved in community service, serving on numerous non-profit Boards and as an advisor to the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Delta Gamma at Louisiana State University. Her passions include LSU sports (Geaux Tigers!), reading, exercising, live music, Broadway theater and spending time with friends and family.
Tammy V. Abshire is the Interim Vice President of Nonprofit Excellence with the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. A development professional with more than 25 years of philanthropic and nonprofit management experience, Ms. Abshire currently leads the Foundation’s strategy to build a thriving and self-sufficient nonprofit sector in the Greater Baton Rouge community.
Prior to joining the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, she served as Vice President of Advancement for the LSU Alumni Association where she was responsible for the financial, strategic and operational success of the Association’s Advancement team. She also previously served as Chief Fundraiser for the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge, managing the overall strategic vision and leading key philanthropic activities for the Office of Stewardship.
Throughout her career, she has raised millions of dollars in philanthropic support for higher education and faith-based organizations and has developed expertise in nonprofit engagement, development, stewardship, communications, alumni relations and volunteer management.
A native of New Orleans, Abshire earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Social Work degrees from Louisiana State University. In 2010, she earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential, an internationally recognized title indicating successful career advancement, professional knowledge and ethical leadership within the profession. In 2023, she was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Greater Baton Rouge Chapter, with the Board of Directors Award. She is an active member of AFP Baton Rouge, serving as their Chapter Administrator, New Orleans Planned Giving Council, and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge.
Gwen Fairchild began her career in development with the Junior League of Baton Rouge. In 1981, she became involved with the fundraising efforts of WRKF Public Radio and continued until 1997. She became one of the first to earn her Certified Fund Raising Executive title.
Gwen joined the LSU Foundation as Director of Academic Development in 1997 and became the Director of Planned Giving from 2003 until 2019. 27% of the $750 million dollars raised during the Forever LSU Campaign were Planned Gifts.
In her over 40 years as a professional fundraiser, Gwen has volunteered with Playmakers, the Battered Women’s Shelter, the original board of Myriam’s House for homeless women, The Redemptorist order of Priests and Brothers, the advisory council of Redemptorist High School, the Board of Directors for St. Joseph’s Academy, a Panhellenic Board and the Chi Omega sorority alumnae board.
Gwen is a charter member of the Baton Rouge chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professional. She is also a member of the New Orleans chapter of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning and a member of the Baton Rouge Estate and Business Council, where she has served on the board and as president.
She is one of a few people in the area to hold the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation, a professional designation focusing on philanthropic planning, charitable giving strategies, and ethical considerations in philanthropy.
Gwen currently serves as Director of Stewardship and Development for the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge.
